Viola Davis has finally reacted to General Hospital's Nancy Lee Grahn's criticism over her Emmys acceptance speech.

You may recall that the soap star caused a controversy for her Twitter comments which claimed that the awards show was not a "venue for racial opportunity" shortly after the How to Get Away With Murder actress made history just weeks ago.

Davis told The New York Times, "If there has been any backlash, it's that all people want to feel included in a speech."

The 1970s was poised to explore the decade through the eyes of the music executives and artists who helped create some of the most influential music of the era.

Sources tell THR that Hayden Christensen and Kelsey Grammer were engaging to play the leads. Producers, insiders say, went back to NBC to see if the casting would get the network to go straight to series on the project, instead of the planned pilot presentation. Insiders say NBC toyed with the numbers but ultimately decided it didn't want to take the gamble and pulled the plug completely. Producers are said to be coming up with new ideas for a different music project.

The potential series hailed from Boardwalk Entertainment Group and was eyed as a 10-hour event series that was to feature contemporary stars re-recording classic '70s hits.

The actress-turned-lifestyle guru will close the virtual doors of Preserve come Oct. 9, explaining to Vogue—the mag that announced she would launch the site in the first place with a cover story in July of 2014—that the site never lived up to its mission statement, and that she's proud of the decision to know when to walk away.

"It's very exciting and it's also incredibly scary," Lively told Vogue. "I never thought I would have the bravery to actually do that, to take the site dark and to say, 'You know what? I haven't created something that is as true and impactful as I know it can and will be. And I'm not going to continue to chase my tail and continue to put a product out there that we, as a team, are not proud of.'"

Miley Cyrus jokes that she may be wearing the bare minimum amount of clothes on TV (again!), but we're not so sure she's kidding.

Cyrus will pull double duty as host and musical guest on Saturday Night Live's season 41 premiere on Saturday, Oct. 3, and in new promos, Cyrus says she'll be doing her jobs "with or without clothes, we're not sure yet."

In typical Miley fashion, the 22-year-old sported a totally out there outfit -- a multi-colored metallic dress with oversized iridescent mushroom earrings -- for the promos, which also featured SNL regular Taran Killam.

"You know Miley, I expected you to wear something crazier," Killam says in one of the promos.

"What? I don't do that all the time," she replies.

Cyrus then gives Killam a sneak peak of an outfit she has in mind, which is basically a black string with two pieces of shiny gold fabric.

"So no pants," he asks.

"What are pants?" Cyrus jokes, again.

Chet Hanks, son of two-time Oscar winner Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, took to Instagram on Wednesday evening where he addressed his past drug abuse and rehab stint in a series of videos.

Chet began the string of videos clearing up reports earlier this summer that he had gone missing, revealing that he had gone to rehab. "I've been in rehab. I've been trying to get my s**t together," he said in one video, "and I'm doing pretty damn good."

How Much Money The Martian May Make This Weekend

It’s a big weekend for Ridley Scott as his much talked about sci-fi film, The Martian, hits theaters. The buzz has been positive and the reviews are looking good, but how will that translate into box office cash? Well, apparently, as analysts are predicting an opening weekend upwards of $45 million. Not a bad debut at the movies.

According to Variety, most of the people in the know have the film pegged somewhere in the $45 million range, though some think it could do as well as $50 million. The studio, 20th Century Fox, is being slightly more conservative, with an estimate closer to $40 million. With a budget of $109 million the movie has some work to do to be profitable, but a box office take like that would be a strong start. If the current positive word of mouth continues from the first weekend of fans who see the movie, it will likely be able to stay strong for the next few weeks, too.

The numbers that we already have access to bear this out. The Martian is currently at the top of Fandango’s sales charts, and according to the online ticket seller, the Matt Damon-starring film is currently outperforming Oscar-winner Gravity at the same point in the sales cycle. The two movies not only share the sci-fi setting and lone survivor theme, but Gravity was even released on the same weekend in 2013, making the comparison about as close to apples to apples as you can get.

Aiding the film’s box office will be the fact there are no other major players competing with it for box office space. Robert Zemeckis’ The Walk is focusing this weekend on IMAX 3D theaters in order to play to the film’s strengths of tightrope walking at extreme altitude, so it won’t conflict with The Martian’s 3,826 theater release. Emily Blunt’s Sicario is opening wide, but on 1,000 fewer screens. That film is expected to do well, especially since it doesn’t have nearly the budget to overcome, but it won’t be fighting over many movie fans with a Ridley Scott science fiction film.

All signs are looking good for Scott, who’s had a tough time at the movies in recent years. His last couple films, The Counselor and Exodus: Gods and Kings, have been both critical and financial bombs. They make Prometheus look great by comparison, and that film also had it’s issues. The Martian is looking to break that slump. This is good since Scott has many more movies planned over the next few years, so we’ll need him on his A game.

News just confirmed that Naya Rivera gave birth to a bouncing baby boy with husband Ryan Dorsey, and now we've learned the little one's name and birth date!

The Glee actress welcomed her son, Josey Hollis Dorsey, on Sept. 17, 2015, at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles, E! News can confirm.

Rivera first announced her pregnancy in April, sharing a photo of a "bun in the oven," and the news of Josey's birth concludes what's been a pretty exciting pregnancy journey since then.

From her many maternity looks to a babymoon, a nude photo shoot and even a blog entirely dedicated to her road to motherhood, it sort of felt like Rivera was (happily) pregnant forever.
